Vineyards of Change

Vineyards of change is a design studio that explores different landscape design strategies and innovations for viticulture across transoceanic regions, specifically the Penedès Valley in Catalonia, Spain, focusing the investigation on a vineyard called Cavas Nadal. The design approach taken was to create nature corridors and bio diversity zones that changed with the seasons to provide year-round nature experiences. The old family masía remained mostly unused and a small hotel and restaurant were incorporated into the house, while maintaining the charm of traditional Spanish design. This project reimagines the Penedès wine region through landscape restoration, adaptive reuse, and hospitality, connecting ecological regeneration with architectural intervention.
